Job Title:      1.0 FTE High School Counselor or Social Worker

Essential Functions:    A full-time (1.0 FTE) Counselor or Social Worker – Faribault High School.  Facilitate student assessments.  Manage a small mental health caseload, responsibilities  include individual and group counseling; establish and maintain communication with parents/guardians; and make referrals to, and conduct case-planning with, community services/resources.  Write and facilitate 504 Accommodation plans for assigned caseload.  Assist with attendance monitoring, to include communication with students and parents/guardians.  Assist with managing Change to Chill program/space.

This position commences with the 2021-22 school year on August 23, 2021.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:     Thorough knowledge of school counseling or social work principles, practices and procedures; community agencies available to serve and assist students; testing materials and ability to communicate results to students; ability to conduct interviews and student sessions to effectively problem solve; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, staff and administration.

Education, Experience & Special Requirements: Master’s degree in school counseling, or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.   K-12 School Counseling License or Social Work License.
