Adult Basic Education Teacher 
 
Who we are:
Osseo Area Schools Adult Basic Education (ABE) is looking for a teacher to provide instruction in its program starting for the fall of 2022.  Our school serves nearly 1,000 students age 17 and older each year.  Our students come from over 60 countries and speak nearly 50 languages.  95% of our students self-identify as a person of color.  We are a student-centered program, with classes in core content areas as well as technology and workplace skills.  We are located in the heart of Brooklyn Center, MN, at the Northwest Family Service Center, and collaborate with our social services building partners to provide support to our learners to be successful in class as well as in the community.
 
Job Summary:
The teacher in this newly developed position will help our program develop and implement a new class to provide technology instruction and support for our incoming students using Google Workspace tools, including Google Meet and Classroom.  Additional assignments will include providing instruction in the classroom for teachers while they persue professional development in technology and collaborating with teachers in the classroom to implement best practices for hyflex learning.  Tjere will be a wide range of teaching activities in this position and the teacher will need to have demonstrated ability to be flexible, creative and self-directed.

We provide classes from September through June.

Minimum Qualifications include:
Candidates must have a valid MN teaching license. 
The teacher who accepts this position will demonstrate strong technology, communication and motivation skills to work effectively with this group of students.  A commitment to equity work is critical.
