Position Title:  Advanced Placement Proctor at Wayzata High School

 

Job Description:  

  • Proctor Advanced Placement tests in various subjects for high school students.  

  • Distribute exam materials, follow detailed exam instructions and closely monitor exams to ensure all protocol is followed.  

  • Monitor test facility and test takers and assist the AP Coordinator to ensure the integrity of the AP tests and administration.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Attend a mandatory proctor training in late April (time of training TBD; individual training can be arranged according to proctor’s schedule).

  • Proctor exams according to the College Board’s instructions including:  distributing exams, reading instructions clearly, monitoring students, collecting and counting exams, and keeping exam materials secure.

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma.  Some post-secondary education is preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of standardized test administration protocols and practices is desired.

  • Experience with technology is helpful, but not required.

  • Ability to follow procedures with great attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment.

  • Reliability and punctuality is extremely important.

  • Ability to lift 10-15 lbs.

  • May not be employed part or full time at a test preparation company.

  • May not participate in any tutoring activity that addresses the content of secure College Board tests.

  • CAN NOT proctor an exam if an immediate family member is taking that exam.  

 

Terms of Employment:

  • Part-time temporary position during the first two weeks of May, with the greatest need May 3-7; May 10-12; May 14; May 17; May 24-25.  There may be additional opportunities to proctor exams during the make-up testing windows in late May/early June.

  • Scheduled hours/days will vary.  Proctors need to be available for either the 7:00 am – 12:00 pm morning exam or the 11:30 am – 4:00 pm evening exam, or for the entire 7:00 am – 4:00 pm exam period.  

  • Proctors do not need to be available for all testing dates and times and may not be scheduled for every day of testing. 

  • Proctors may be assigned to a large or small group standard exam or a 1:1 or small group accommodated exam. Large groups will have multiple roving proctors assigned as well as the main proctor.  

  • Employment is contingent upon completion of a background check.

 

Payment:

  • $100 per Standard Exam – Roving Proctor Responsibilities

  • $125 per Standard Exam – Main Proctor Responsibilities

  • $125 per Accommodated Exam – Main Proctor Responsibilities
