Description:  After-School Academic Enrichment Teacher Leader

Job Summary

  • Coordinate the alignment of K-8 school programs with the SPARKS after school and summer programs
  • Help plan and teach summer SPARKS programs in collaboration with the Community Education Department
  • Coordinate and lead academic and social-emotional interventions in collaboration with SPARKS teachers
  • Coordinate development and monitoring of academic goals and plans for each child in the program
  • Support direct instruction groups for math, reading or other academic content during program hours
  • Serve as a liaison between school and SPARKS program staff, coordinating student plans and goals
  • Work in partnership with school leadership to align program implementation and school curriculum and instruction
  • Communicate effectively with students, other school staff, parents, and administration, regarding program needs and developments. 
  • Work with student assistance teams and school leadership on identifying students in need and enrolling those students in after school and summer programs
  • Serve as a liaison to SPARKS families, ameliorating program, communication, and/or home language or cultural barriers


  • Teaching license required.
