Basketball Coaches – Community Ed Youth Instructors
Community Ed Youth Instructors and Asst. Instructors are responsible for delivery of curriculum of Community School Programs for Preschool-Grade 8.
Date & Hours: November 27 thru April 2024; Monday – Thursday practice, 3:00 pm – 5:15 pm; Game dates are Mondays and Wednesdays and go as late as 6:00 pm. (Dates for practice and games are flexible and subject to change.)
Basketball Seasons
Boy’s Basketball Season is November thru January.
Boy’s Basketball Season is January thru March.
6th Grade Basketball Season is March thru April.
Coaches can work 1, 2, or 3 seasons. Idealy, we are looking for coaches to work all 3 seasons.
Locations: Anoka Middle, Coon Rapids Middle, Jackson Middle, Northdale Middle, Oak View Middle, Roosevelt Middle
Duties include: Basketball coaching – practice and inhouse games management. Coaches can work for one or both seasons. Provide student safety and program presentation. Perform other duties as assigned. (Concussion training is required.)
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions. (Concussion training is required.) Must be physically working on site.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous Basketball playing and/or Basketball coaching experience preferred. Relevant work experience and previous experience with community school activities preferred. Advanced training or college degree preferred for coach and assistant coach positions preferred. Previous experience working with middle school ages students preferred.

Rate of Pay: $17.43 – 24.55/hour, DOQ.
