Description

The Brooklyn Center Community School (BCCS) District is seeking a Special Education Centerbased Teacher to join our team for the 2023-24 school year at Brooklyn Center Elementary School. This position supports students with disabilities that receive the majority of services and supports in the special education setting.

 Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create and ensure a welcoming, safe, meaningful environment for students with moderate to significant disabilities that supports academic, functional, and social/emotional/behavioral needs
  • Advocate for and ensure inclusionary and least restrictive environments and services are in place
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and data collection to guide daily practice
  • Build strong connections with students, families and community
  • Collaborate regularly with families, team members, and community providers
  • Complete all due process requirements, including direct and indirect service, evaluations, team meeting facilitation and casemanagement supports
  • Provide direction and support to team members, including Special Education Assistant

Qualifications: MN Special Education Teaching licensure (DCD or ASD preferred)
Pay and Benefits: Competitive Pay and Benefits based on the contract
Duty Days: 197 duty days, for new hire, includes 8 paid holidays!
