Position Summary:
This School Readiness Educator position delivers a 4-week, summer kindergarten jumpstart program known as “Little Huskies”. There are 16 student contact days, with additional 2.85 days for set-up and close down of the summer program, plus daily professional preparation based on instructional time. School Readiness provides a developmentally appropriate, play-based environment that stimulates student development and mastery using the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress for cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy and physical/motor development, with an emphasis on skills and routines to support transition of students into Kindergarten in the fall. Each class will serve 12-16 students with instruction occuring from 8:00 am to Noon, Monday through Thursday. Up to three positions are available depending on student enrollment. Successful candidates must be available for the full 4-week assignment.
Qualifications:
A valid Minnesota teaching license in early childhood , with a 3-5 Pre-K endorsement is required. Required curriculum and assessment experience includes MN Early Childhood Indicators of Progress. COR Advantage, Fountas and Pinnell, Everyday Math, Visual Phonics. Second-Step and SMART. Successful experience using Work Sampling, MTSS and IGDI’s will be considered. Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired. Demonstrated use of research-based practices and approaches to ensure all learners achieve at the highest levels also required.
Position Requirements:
Successful experience in partnering with preschool families around preparing young children for kindergarten entry. Successful candidate must demonstrate ability to work as a team member in a culture of excellence to deliver programs that address the positive development of children and families in diverse populations. Demonstrated communication and organizational skills required.
FTE/Schedule:
.08 FTE beginning July 6, 2022 and ending August 2, 2022.

Based on Master Agreement
