Job Summary:
- Actively participate as a member of a professional learning team, exhibiting trust, effective communication, commitment, mutual accountability, and attention to results.
- Actively participate on leadership teams to positively influence and support the acquisition of effective instructional practices for high potential students.
- Design and deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum for direct instruction.
- Administer assessments and identify students for supplemental services and acceleration.
- Evaluate student progress using developmentally appropriate assessments.
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and administrators about student progress.
- Co-teach or demonstrate instructional strategies within a classroom environment.
- Coach and support teacher use of balanced inquiry strategies and data-driven decision making.
- Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators through all available means of technology.
- Establish and maintain high standards for character and academic growth.
Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota teaching license;
- Elementary Education, K-6 or 1-6 required.
- Gifted and Talented Certificate preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of high potential students and effective instruction for learners in elementary grades.
- Knowledge of and experience with instruction practices for accelerating student growth;
- Strong knowledge of research and best practice in gifted and talented curriculum and instruction;
- Ability to work independently and coordinate personal schedule;
- Strong communication skills;
- Ability to focus on inquiry, formative assessment, and technology integration;
- Ability to coach and support teacher use of balanced literacy strategies and data driven-decision making.
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in collaboration and problem-solving.
- Experience with curriculum and assessment design.
- Ability to use technology as an instructional tool.
