Experience working with youth in an education, recreation, or other related field preferred.

Demonstrates an understanding of cultural competency and child development

Candidates for aides must be 16 years of age or older, experienced aides must be 18 years of age or older


We are seeking candidates to work with a group of 15 students in the mornings and/or afternoons in our Summer Village Kids (grades K-5) program at Wilshire Park Elementary School.  

  • Responsibilities in the morning include welcoming kids as they arrive, supervising the children as they play in the gym, art room, Village Kids room, game room, or playground, transition to breakfast and their grade level classroom, and cleaning/sanitizing spaces.  

  • Responsibilities in the afternoon include transitioning kids from their grade level classroom to snack, supervising the children as they play in the gym, art room, Village Kids room, game room, or playground, and cleaning/sanitizing spaces after children leave the program. 

  • Aides will follow established procedures when working with children, communicate with coworkers and parents, and attend required training.

Experience working with a group of young children five to ten years of age, ability to implement activities for a group of children, ability to work effectively on a team, and ability to develop positive relationships with coworkers, parents, and children.  


Employment Dates:  Monday, June 14 through Friday, August 27, 2021. 
(Village Kids will be closed Friday, July 2 and Monday, July 5.)

10-20 hours per week: Monday through Friday, 7:00/7:30 a.m. to 9:00/9:30 a.m. or 3:00/3:30 to 5:00/5:30 p.m.
Salary:  $10.66 per hour (aides) and $11.99-$13.31 per hour (experienced aides)
