Gymnastics Spotter
 

All coaches at Rockford Area Schools are responsible for providing leadership, guidance and instruction to student athletes within their program. The coach reports to, and works closely with, the Activities Director along with other coaches to determine goals and direction of the program. The coach is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of every student athlete participating on their team.

General Description
The Gymnastics Spotter is responsible for assisting the athletes with guidance and safe execution of skills during routines. A spotter can provide minimal support or can be in contact with the athlete for the entire duration of execution of a skill. Spotters should have good communication with athletes so the spotter is ready for the athlete to begin the skill to avoid injury from unexpected movements. Candidates are responsible for attending practices and meets, assisting in scheduling competitions, assessing the skill level of athletes, working closely with the Head Coach in following team protocol, creating a positive team environment of respect, and facilitating communication with the Activities Director, Head Coach, parents, and athletes.

Schedule
This position will start in November 14, 2022, and run through February, 2023.
