Lead Staff Position
2 days (16 hours) per week
PreK (Ages 3-4)

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, plan, and conduct daily activities for children to provide a nurturing, positive, safe and fun learning and care environment.  Plan and post a weekly lesson plan.
  • Supervise personnel assigned to assist with daily group activities.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly physical environment conducive to optimal growth and development of children.  Use equipment and supplies conscientiously.

  • Read and follow all policies and procedures covered in the Project Kids Staff Handbook.

  • Develop a strong relationship with the children and their families in order to better foster their growth and development.

  • Keeping a strong line of communication open with families.  Send home reminders for upcoming activities and any additional communication needed.

  • Be a flexible and dependable member of the staff team who attends and contributes to staff meetings, communicates well, is open to share and receive feedback, takes initiative and is willing to grow and learn.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience and excellent references for helping to create an environment that fosters social/emotional and academic growth.

  • Fun, nurturing and caring. Organized and flexible and able to handle multiple priorities typical in a public school child care program.

  • Knowledge of the developmental needs of preschool and school age children.

  • Two-years of college or preschool or childcare center teacher experience preferred.

  • First-aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with other staff members and be a strong team leader.

  • Ability to be self-directed and direct teaching assistants and high school staff within the classroom.
