QUALIFICATIONS:     
Required

  • Two years post-secondary education or two years relevant work experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English language
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills 

Preferred

  • Experience working with adults 

POSITION SUMMARY:
Support and assist adult learners, ABE teachers, administrators and other staff in the areas of ESL (English as a Second Language), literacy development, and other academic areas.  Duties include CASAS pre and post testing, student intake and registration and tracking attendance.   
 
SALARY:
$13.14/hr-$16.36/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Oversee record-keeping process including intakes, attendance, and pre- and post-testing
  • Complete tutor training and lead small groups under the direction of a licensed teacher
  • Facilitate numerous pre and post testing CASAS sessions, staying in compliance with federal, state, and program requirements
  • Accessing, reviewing and analyzing pre and post testing data using the MARCS database
  • Compile daily attendance and record on spreadsheet for ABE attendance tracking
  • Facilitate student intake/orientation, collecting federal and state mandated information
  • Make appropriate student placements using site placement charts
  • Assist with student record keeping including assessment, attendance, progress, goal setting, and exit reporting
  • Assist in recruitment activities for site volunteers
  • Assist with and support the volunteer program activities and events
  • Photocopy materials as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
