Special Education Paraprofessional Long Term Substitute – Delano Public Schools

Delano Schools is looking for a patient, caring, supportive person who can assist teachers in managing/monitoring student behaviors and provide assistance with academic work completion as well as functional skills.  The position is available immediately and is likely to last the entire school year.   

Job Summary: The paraprofessional will support students with disabilities which may include academic, social, behavioral, and functional needs.  The paraprofessional may work in mainstream classrooms or special education classrooms under the direction of licensed special education teachers. Additional duties may include supporting extracurricular activities or bus routes.  On rare occasions this assignment may entail work in evenings or weekends.  The paraprofessional will utilize their skills daily for the purposes of data collection and communication to support the needs of students. 

Hours: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm (6.5 hours per day on all student contact days), 30 minute unpaid lunch.  Specific start/end times may vary.

Requirements: Experience with special education or people with disabilities is  preferred.  Necessary training is provided.

Start date: Immediately

End date: Expected June 3, 2022, but is subject to change.
