Pine Island Public Schools is seeking a School Psychologist for the 2022-2023 school year. Pine Island Public Schools has approximately 1500 PK-12 students and is located 11 miles from the city of Rochester, Minnesota. This person will be directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students through standardized evaluations and other informal problem-solving methods. This person will also provide consultation services to support general education and special education staff in behavior programming for students. 


Job Summary (including, but not limited to):

  • Assist in developing appropriate evaluation and reevaluation plans for students with disabilities, preschool through high school. 

  • Administer intellectual psychosocial, adaptive behavior, and other psychological assessments, including standardized tests and other informal procedures to determine special education eligibility. Document findings in written and oral reports to staff and parents based on evaluation results. 

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments, as appropriate. 

  • Participate in evaluation meetings and weekly student study team meetings. 

  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to complete behavior observations as well as design and implement behavior interventions compatible with student needs.

  • Suggest and, as needed, assist in implementing pre-referral intervention strategies for students in general education settings. 

  • Provide professional development and training to district staff on behavior management and programming. 

  • Other job duties, as assigned



  • Ed.S. in School Psychology or comparable; valid MN licensure as a School Psychologist

  • Knowledge of special education due process procedures and criteria

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally

  • Preferred experience or current certification in CPI or Safety Care


Salary: Dependent upon education and experience
