The PRIDE (Practicing and Reaching Individual Dream Everyday) Program serves students at our 401 location in grades 9-12. PRIDE is an Autism Program (ASD), Emotional/Behavioral Program (EBD), and a Developmental Cognitive/Behavioral Program (DCD).

Description:

Special Education Paraprofessional, 7 hours a day for 183 Contract Days. 
 
Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher.  Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students.  Works Individually or in small groups. 
 
Pay & Benefits: 
Starting pay at $18.85 per hour with the opportunity to earn up to an additional $4.80 per hour when completing continuing education.  A competitive and comprehensive benefit package is available.
 
Job Summary:
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social/behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
 
Qualifications:
•          High School diploma or GED equivalent, prefer 2 years of post-secondary training or AA degree in child development.
•          Experience working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required.  
•          Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) required. Training is offered by the school district.
•          Must pass a background check.
•          Capable of discretion/confidentiality.
