Position Description:
The Summer Early Childhood Youth Camp Assistant will support the camp environment at the direction of the Camp Leader. Provide primary support in preparing the classroom and instructional materials for each weekly camp. This position supports eight weekly enrichment camp experiences for children ages 3-7.

Position Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), proficiency in the English language and successful work experience with children. Mobility and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds. Hearing, speech, and sight are required. Current first aid and CPR certificate. Consistent and reliable attendance required.

Language Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in the English language using positive body language and tone of voice to support relationship development with children and adult colleagues.  Read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondences and memos.

Other Skills & Abilities:
Ability to build quality relationships with children and camp staff. Provide a variety of suggestions in prepping the camp materials and setting. Maintain cooperative staff partnerships and display flexibility in day-to-day situations. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students. Perform duties within a tightly structured daily schedule and with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. 

Schedule:
8:30 AM – 3:30PM (1 hour unpaid lunch) / 4 days per week / Monday – Thursday / June 10 – August 9, 2024
2 hours of additional time available weekly to flip classroom themes.
– If enrollments are not sufficient, camps are canceled and staff receive unpaid time off.

Pay Rate:
A-1-3 / $16.32 per hour
