Hours: 6 hours/day; 5 days/week (7:30 AM – 2:00 PM) on student contact days only
General Purpose of Job:  Oversee study hall and assist students with homework. Back up the school’s Alternative to Suspension/Calming Room. Candidates must be able to direct and redirect students in a confident manner. In addition, candidates must have a positive attitude and be willing to work as part of a team..


  • Assist in general classroom operational procedures such as setting up and operating a/v equipment, preparing and setting up supplies, etc.
  • Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic, motor, or social skills, e.g. reading, math, science, social studies, decision making, self-esteem building, etc.
  • Work with students to develop appropriate strategies for positive behavioral change
  • Assist students and teachers in group activities/projects
  • Seek out special instructional materials to assist with student learning
  • Communicate with administration and staff to resolve behavioral concerns
  • Provide academic and behavioral support


  • High School Diploma
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students
  • Positive communication skills
  • Computer and Microsoft Office experience


  • College degree or highly qualified (HQ) status
