Gifted & Talented Teacher and Teacher Resource
0.8 FTE (during the school year) teaching Gifted & Talented small groups, identifying G/T students, delivering instruction for acceleration in learning, providing resources and assisting classroom teachers with differentiation.
0.2 FTE (a portion during summer months) Coordinating and supervising North West Talent Academy & summer programming.
 
Licensure:

  • Minnesota Teaching Licensure for Grades 1-5
  • G/T Certificate
  • SENG Certified

 
Essential Skills Required:

  • Familiarity with Cogat and Fast Bridge assessment tools
  • Familiarity with Kids Talk program
  • Effective communication and teaming skills, willingness to be flexible and excellent attendance
  • Maintain confidentiality of information about students
  • Experience working with diverse students and families
  • Knowledge and application of technology and assistive technology
  • Skilled in adapting lesson plans to the individual needs of students to facilitate learning and to assist in meeting individual learning goals for gifted learners
  • Experience enhancing standards-based curriculum with logical thinking and mathematical reasoning
  • Assist with supervision of students during non-academic education activities
  • Oversight of volunteers
  • Experience presenting information to large groups such as MEGT and MCGT
  • Experience with program coordination and evaluation
