Special Education Teacher  – All Special Education licenses considered

Description/Requirements

Rockford Elementary Arts Magnet School is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) licensed Special Education Teacher. This individual will work with students with various disabilities, with a focus on providing specialized instruction to students who qualify for services under the disability categories of Specific Learning Disabilities, Other Health Disabilities, and possibly Emotional Behavioral Disabilities. This individual must have strong communication and leadership skills, as well as a strong passion and commitment to work with students. The Special Education teacher will be responsible for planning, writing, and implementing IEP goals and objectives.

This individual will work closely with colleagues to implement specialized instruction across a continuum of service. The individual needs to have collaborative teaching and consultative skills in working with multiple staff across learning environments. This includes collaboration with behavioral analysts, related services providers and general education teachers. The individual will also work with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to ensure accommodations and modifications are being implemented through lessons, activities, assignments, and tests. The individual will manage a data collection system for sharing clear information with teachers and parents. The position also requires the teacher to provide clear direction to paraprofessionals when working in the educational environment.

All Special Education teaching licenses considered.
