Position Description:
The Summer Early Childhood Youth Enrichment Camp Leader facilitates eight weeks of play-based and developmentally appropriate themed enrichment camp experiences for mixed-age groupings of 3 – 7 year olds.

Position Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, with coursework or completed training in early childhood programming preferred. Successful work experience with children in target age groups required.  Digital literacy proficiency required. Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary to succeed in this position.  Experience with community-based youth programming required.  Position requires a current CPR and first aid certificate be held.  Successful candidates must be available for all eight weeks of programming. The Camp Leader will work with the Youth Coordinator to determine learning materials to support each of the eight themes selected for the summer program. Consistent and reliable attendance required.

Language Skills:
Demonstrate proficiency in the English language using positive body language and tone of voice to support relationship development with children and adult colleagues.  Read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondences and memos.

Physical Demands:
Mobility and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds. Hearing, speech, and sight are required. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Other Skills & Abilities:
The Camp Leader must possess skills in building quality relationships with children and be able to maintain cooperative staff partnerships, display flexibility in day-to-day situations and contribute to a positive team environment. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students.  Provide parent communication as appropriate concerning program activities and child participation in daily activities.  Ability to create or gather high-quality, play-based learning experiences for young children around weekly themes required. Perform duties with a structured daily schedule and with an awareness of program standard operating practices, district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Schedule:
8:30 AM – 3:30PM (1 hour unpaid lunch) / 4 days per week / Monday – Thursday / June 10 – August 9, 2024
Additional 2 hours per week available to change out classroom themes.
— Camps not receiving sufficient participation will be canceled resulting in staff receiving unpaid time off.
— No camp the week of July 1-5

Pay Rate:
B-2-2 / $18.91-22.67 per hour
